Emma’s Best Christmas Party Dresses

I’m what some people might describe as a girly-girl – and I’m totally fine with that. I love indulging in my ultra-feminine side and getting all dressed up for an evening with Ceawlin or my best friends and this of course includes the ‘prep’ of finding something special to wear.

Since its Christmas and we’re in festive overload – again, bring it on – I find myself being drawn toward dresses made from beautiful heavy fabrics, textured material and in lots of jewel tones, with the odd piece of embellishment or sequins thrown in there for good measure.

Here are a few bits which I’ve been lusting after recently.

Product Picks

ALEXACHUNG, Strapless Dress: £450

What self-respecting round-up of party dresses would be complete without a classic LBD!

Zara, Dark Red Velvet Tube Dress: £29.99

You can always rely on Zara for accessible party dresses that tap into the latest trends. This little red velvet number is no different.

Dhela, Green Ruffle Dress: £706

As I’ve mentioned before, I’m a huge fan of Dhela and can’t get enough of the Green Velvet Ruffle Dress.

RIXO London, Iris Printed Crepe Wrap Dress: £245

RIXO is a fairly new brand to me and I think this dress is so much fun. I love the print and although it’s pretty short, the wrap front and long sleeves will save your modesty. Meaning it’s totally appropriate for an office party or family get-together.

Galvan, Sequin-Embellished Column Gown: £975

This dress is one of my go-to favourites. The shape is incredibly flattering and who doesn’t love head-to-toe rose gold sequins!

ASOS EDITION Velvet Ruffle Long Sleve Midi Dress: £85

ASOS is great for every day basics and picking up those pieces you know won’t be in season next year, but you’ve got to have them anyway, and lucky for me, I’ve now been introduced to the ASOS Edition line. There are loads of great dresses on there like this deep plum velvet number – with amazingly OTT sleeves – which are perfect for party season.
